Switzerland.
Netscape Engineering Sign
This is a bus sign in Netscape's engineering pit. Users dictate what
the sign says, but a view of the sign is dependent upon whether the camera
is aimed correctly.

The Interactive
Electric Chair
Deathrow Online, the world's first interactive electric chair,
allows volunteers to execute delinquents-- for example, I had the opportunity
to execute John A.Peterson whose crime was to drop a baby while playing
with it. Deathrow Online is trying to expand its capabilities,
and soon users might be able to flood Bangledesh or drop a Russian nuclear
missile over New York with a click of the mouse.
Alice
This is not a telerobot in the sense of the
others but is a very cool natural language interface.
Richard Wallace's Alice is a literary chatterbot . When she asked
me what my favorite book was I said A Trip to the Moon (I had a
suspicion she would know what it was) . Alice claimed that she loved
Jules Verne's A Trip to the Moon (are we surprised?).
She also said she liked Thomas Pynchon. But, when I asked her what
her favorite Pynchon novel was, she got lost. Many links
to other AI sites.
