Robots that Manipulate
Robotoy
Robotoy was created at the University of Wollogong, Australia, with
Vodafone, in the UK. The challenge is to pick
up the white blocks strewn on the table. Users have control of each
of the robot's joints, as well as two camera vantages from which to view
their movements.
Carnegie Science
Center's Online Telerobot
The Pittsburgh robot offers many of the same control features as its
Australian predecessor, though in this site two (rather than four) camera
vantages are offered. Users may learn to use the robot's coordinate
system through a walk through tutorial.

Drinking Maiden Exhibition
A valuable statue is placed on a rotating platform.
A robotic arm allows users and art historians
to move stereo cameras to view the statue.
Puma Paint
Matthew Stein's Puma Paint,
at Wilkes University. Allows users to paint with brushes
using an industrial robot arm.
The interface has 2
windows showing live camera views of the work site, and lets users manipulate
everything from brush saturation, to color, to pressure on the canvas.
In addition, completed paintings will be mailed (via US postal service)
upon request. The site requires JAVA.
