  • Create your own part on the Trap Design Applet!

  • The following illustrate the behavior of the planar part on the accompanying track.

  • 2D, planar part with concavities

Track with 2 specially designed traps: 1 balcony, 1 slot

This orientation falls through balcony trap

This orientation falls through slot trap.

    This orientation survives.

Consider a part feeding system that accepts as input a set of part orientations.  Based on a definition by S. Akella et al, we might say that a system has the feeding property if there exists some orientation theta such that the system outputs parts only in that orientation.  This java applet aids in designing traps for a part feeder with the feeding property.
